Class Descriptions
YING YOGA- SLOW & GENTLE:
A Yin style yoga class will include longer, more passive holding of specific yoga poses. With the use of props that will help you relax into the poses this class is very gentle and can be restorative.
Known as the perfect yoga for hip and back pain.
Poses are held with focus on the breath to assist in deepening the poses with time. Yin targets the connective tissue around joints which can be deeply opening within the body. All levels welcome.
FUNCTIONAL STRENGTH:
Join Steven Hendriks for this full body strength circuit that utilizes a wide variety of equipment
in both our group fitness studio and our strength and conditioning room.
Prepare to sweat!
PILATES STABILITY AND BALANCE:
A fun and safe, yet challenging class and a full body workout. Strengthen and integrate core, ankles, legs & hips and postural muscles, all of which enhance balance, while also improving coordination, gait and reducing risk of injury! In these classes you will:
Discover & Strengthen core: abdominal muscles, hip and postural muscles
Improve balance, stability and coordination
Increase flexibility and Improve range of motion
Improve activities of daily living
Improve athletic performance
Rehabilitate and prevent injury
Energize and Live better in your body!
YIN YANG YOGA:
LEARN THE BASIC FOUNDATIONS OF KEY HATHA YOGA POSTURES AND BREATH FOCUS
WHILE FLOWING GENTLY FROM POSTURES THAT INSTILL STRENGTH, BALANCE, CORE, AND
MINDFULNESS.
YOGA TUNE UP®:
YTU is preventative maintenance for your body. YTU classes help you to identify and target your “body blind spots”; areas of your body that are overused, underused, misused or abused.
By intelligently addressing these problem areas, we heal damaged muscle, increase mobility, strength and re-establish healthy movement patterns.
The result is less pain, improved posture and enhanced performance - a chance to live better in your body.
YTU combines targeted self-massage & myofascial release using specially designed high-grip rubber balls with movement routines rooted in Biomechanics based Yoga. These self-massage sequences combined with whole-body exercises are recommended by physical therapists, pain medicine specialists, massage therapists and chiropractors, to provide long-lasting positive changes from head to toe.
LATIN DANCE:
Deneen’s Latin Dance class consists of several dance styles originating from Latin America,
South America and Mexico. Participants will experience the uplifting rhythms of
Salsa, Bachata, Cumbia and Cha-Cha to name a few. A fun and energetic
dance class that will have your hips swayin’ as the dance room ignites with laughter!
*We recommend booking classes at least 24 hours in advance as we need a minimum of 2 participants for a class to go ahead. The class will be cancelled for that day if there are not 2 or more participants registered 24 hours ahead of the scheduled time. This is to give the instructor enough notice to fill that cancelled slot with another appointment.
